Winter Tree Pottery, Porcelain Handcrafted in the Hudson Valley

I make functional porcelain pottery in New York’s Hudson Valley. The pieces are often made on the potter’s wheel and are decorated by hand before being glazed and fired. All my work is food safe and dishwasher safe. The process is a conversation between me and the pots as they find ways to tell me what they want.

Way back in the dark ages, I was a small child who fell in love with clay. I graduated from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, with a major in Ceramics. Life intervened, as it does, and I found myself with an IT career. Computers were fun and challenging, but I missed playing with mud. I was recently able to “retire” from my day job to go back to my first love. Leaving a wonderful IT career to make mugs may strike some as odd, but I couldn’t be happier. As a potter, my days are filled with learning, camaraderie, and the simple enjoyment of playing with clay. My wish is that these pieces bring you joy!
