As a ceramic artist, I see a block of clay as a blank canvas, ready to be formed into a functional piece, to be part of the users daily life. Imagining my pieces as part of a meal filled with brightly colored foods or a pair of hands being warmed by a mug full of coffee or tea as part of someone’s morning wake up ritual, or even a piece used to hold flowers for an arrangement to be displayed, is what inspires my work.
