My name is Melanie Kahn and I live in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. I have created hand-crafted art most of my life including: jewelry making, quilting, knitting, etc. and for the past ten years, a serious passion for pottery. I am mostly inspired by ceramic forms that serve functions including practical items such as; cups, tumblers, bowls, vases, berry colanders, plates etc. My most recent collection uses smooth minimalist geometric designs. However, I do love color and enjoy exploring combinations of glazes that create dripping and abstract designs. Most of my work is wheel-thrown; however, I enjoy handbuilding garden art, sculpture vases, tiles, and animals. I have a studio in my home and am a member of the Peekskill Clay Studio, in Peekskill, New York
